PROMETIS Ltd.
On July 21, 1965. Croatian Government and nine transport enterprises and their associations established Institute for transport and communication, the first and for the long time the only Croatian institute working in the transport and communication research field. At the beginning of the year 1975. the name of the enterprise was changed to the Institute for transport sciences. |

In the year 1968. the Institute was co-founder of the first Croatian Interfaculty transport study. Between 1978. and 1987. the Institute was working together with then Faculty for transport sciences, unified in the enterprise Transport center. In the privatization process, during the year 1992., the enterprise changed the name to PPOMETIS Ltd., as a core business keeping the transport research and development as well as a transport and traffic engineering and road traffic counting. The role of PROMETIS was especially important in the creation of the Croatian transport system.
